The Top 12 Cancer-Causing products in the Average Home

February 23, 2011 at 6:14 pm 201 comments

Among many other cancer causing products commonly found in the home, this dirty dozen list has made it to the Hall of Shame. “What is particularly galling about the “Dirty Dozen”, emphasized Ralph Nader, “is that these toxic chemicals don’t have to be there. Yet these corporations continue to expose people to health hazards unnecessarily”.

Current product labeling provides no warning for cancer and other chronic health risks. Food is labeled for cholesterol, but not for carcinogens. Cosmetics are labeled for major ingredients, but not for those that form carcinogens or contain carcinogenic contaminants. Except for pesticides, household products contain no information on their ingredients.

Cancer rates are skyrocketing. Currently, more than one-third of all of us will develop cancer in our lifetime, and one-fourth will die from the disease. Many cancers are due to avoidable exposures to industrial carcinogens in the food we eat, and the cosmetics and household products we use.

Hopefully this has gotten the message across that just because these products sit on store shelves, do not guarantee it’s safe to use. These are 12 of the thousands of products that have not been tested alone or in conjunction. We’d like to add one more to this product hall-of-shame.

Most Brand-Name Laundry Detergents

These are commonly loaded with extremely toxic chemicals. Residues of these chemicals are left on your clothes and are absorbed by your skin and evaporated into the air where they could be breathed in. In a study conducted by Clemson University, 2% of a fabric’s weight comes from laundry detergent. It was found that this is equivalent to a full scoop of laundry detergent that is accumulated on the clothing wash after wash. And the skin absorbs 75% of what any fat soluble substances that are on the surface within 26 seconds, specially during perspiration. In addition to this, most consumers would be surprised to find that even ‘Green’ labeled detergents contain toxic ingredients. Read: The Truth About Laundry Detergents.

Hidden Toxic Ingredients
Linear alkyl sodium sulfonates (LAS)
or ‘anionic surfactants’, carcinogenic, reproductive toxins
Petroleum Distillates, carcinogenic, cause lung damage, lung inflammation and damage to mucous membranes.
Phenols, toxic to central nervous system, heart, blood vessels, lungs and kidneys.
Sodium hypochlorite (household bleach):
When it reacts with organic materials in the environment, carcinogenic and toxic compounds are created than can cause reproductive, endocrine and immune system disorders.

There are toxins is a lot of store bought products from soap to laundry detergent to cleaning products and even in baby powder and make up!!!! What gives!?!? And what really gets my goat is that people are paying these big companies to poison us! That’s why I’m so very thankful that a couple friends of mine invited me to their house one day about a month ago….. As this lead to my learning of these toxic products but even better it lead me to learning about the over 400 products that REPLACE those toxic products with PROVEN SAFE products that COST LESS and are made right here in the USA! I save money, get better products and even get free products as well! And I also get paid to shop, watch videos about the products, and get paid for telling others how they too can get these SAFE products at a lower price! I’m busting at the seams to get the word out about these SAFE products! Did I mention these products are all non toxic AND safe for Mother Nature?! They are! Get with me ASAP! Don’t use it!

I was made so sick by its use by the custodian after school, I could not do my job as a teacher properly. I asked the custodian to not use it – thought it was the fragrance, but was told by the Principal via the school district’s attorney that in spite of a doctor’s note, they did not have to accommodate me. They said schools were public places, so could do as they wanted. However, that turned out not to be true.

Same symptoms, headache, increasing respiratory issues that turned into pneumonia (2x consecutive). It’s the chemicals in fragrances, because anything can be hidden in them and they do not have to disclose!

It also helps to eat clean. According to the work of Dr. Edward Howell, much of the disease we see in modern civilization is due to two underlying causes:

The first is the major culprit: Enzyme deficiency or undernutrition. This lays the groundwork, sets the stage and speeds the development of the degenerative diseases and ailments rampant today: cancer, obesity, heart disease, arthritis, premature aging and other conditions.

The second more highly advertised “cause” of disease can bring out trouble only if the first (undernutrition) has done its work well. It comprises carcinogens, cholesterol, bacteria, x-rays, chemicals, food additives, tobacco, etc.

Check out http://www.consciousnourishment.org for more info on this, as well as recipes, documentation and videos.

Don’t be fooled that “all natural” equals heathy and earth friendly. For example, talcum powder mentioned above as a carcinogen is a natural material mined from the earth. Also, you might feel emotional satisfaction in making your own toothpaste, cleansers, etc. However, these home brews might be just as dangerous or even more harmful to your health if you don’t understand what you’re mixing and the potential interactions.

Who conducted the study that concluded these products specifically cause cancer ruling out all other factors. The problem with a person who has a little bit of knowledge is often times they don’t realize how limited that knowledge is, so they start arriving at conclusions that aren’t based on science and pass those mislead assumptions off as scientific fact to anyone who will listen. Case in point, look at all the posts below from people who are prepared to change a number of products they buy because they read something online and really have no idea how accurate the information is. And P.S. I have no affiliation to any of these companies personally or professionally.

And sometimes the problem is that people assume the information is incorrect for the same reason. You asked a fair question but then proceeded with your conclusion as though your assumption that the research is flawed is correct without anything more than your own limited knowledge to back that up, either.

There is no no definite proof that TALC causes cancer. (http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/othercarcinogens/athome/talcum-powder-and-cancer) So even if there’s some “risk” of it on it, the title is misleading and makes me doubt about any of the other products as carcinogens.

You asshats are effing nuts. In case you can’t figure it out, you and your unfunded political mandates for ‘information’ like this are one of the drivers that raise prices for everyone for everything while accomplishing absolutely nothing. You think maybe some nice lab is going to just do testing for all these things for free? No. You plan to force manufacturers to pay for the testing and then force them to relabel their products for consumers who could care less and won’t read the label you forced the manufacturer to place on the product. Net result: Increased costs to everyone with no net benefit to anyone except the testing lab and your friends. It’s people like you who elect people like Nanny Bloomberg and Moochelle Obama to positions of power so as to indirectly enforce your tyrannical little Leftist wet dreams on those of us who realize and accept that life has never been – and will never be – risk-free. You need to get a life, accept reality, and grow up.

What Florence said applies to both men and women, what we spray on our bodies, ingest and inhale affects us. I won’t go into a rant denouncing pharmaceuticals, they do provide life saving medicines. I also wont call for a ban on Coca-Cola, Mayfield, Pine-sol, Old Spice, cars or birth control these things exist in the average U.S. citizens life and will continue to do so. But, I will call into question the health benefits of these products—none by the way in most cases. Is it possible that such high exposure to these everyday products can be the reason behind the increased incidences of breast cancer and other forms of cancer? Let me remind you of the definition of carcinogenic: any substance or agent that tends to produce a cancer. For perspective here’s a list of The Top 12 Carcinogenic Substances in Your Home. […]

It so great to see more exposure on the wide range of toxins present in everyday items used and consumed by the trusting and ignorant population. As a concerned consumer trying my darnedest to eradicate these toxins from my life and stay informed about these atrocious ingredients and companies, I am overwhelmed with concern about how these ingredients have found a safe house to exist and be used in our society and why these sick companies and the people who run them are able to get away with doing so? When are governments and people going to take the same stand against this as they do with anti smoking campaigns. Are they not the same problem? Is it not the same as when a doctor promoted the health benefits of smoking to Johnson & Johnson guilting parents into using their wonderfully soft cancer talcum powder on their new born baby. Why do we think only one of these scenarios are wrong? I really do hope all us actively conscious humans an start making a difference…for everyone.

Now that I have looked at your list I am going to have to be careful about what products I use and how I use them! Thanks for all the advice! 🙂

I feel sorry for the people that blame everything that is wrong with the country and the world on him. If he has to push his agenda through without Congress, so be it. The Right has made it very clear that we can forget about anything good being done because it might have the appearance that the President has more intelligence than all of the GOP/RIGHT put together.

Cancer rates are not “skyrocketing.” Obesity is skyrocketing. Cancer rates are actually declining slowly, mostly in response to lower rates of cigarette smoking. New diagnoses for all types of cancer combined in the United States decreased, on average, almost 1 percent per year from 1999 to 2006. Cancer deaths decreased 1.6 percent per year from 2001 to 2006.

There are a lot of things wrong with this article, starting with the title. What does “Top 12 cancer-causing products” mean? Most of these products do not have nearly the cancer causing potential of cigarettes or radon, which are found in many homes. And you can bet the sun, and human estrogen, which are both carcinonogenic, cause a lot more cancers than talcum powder.

I’m as concerned about cancer prevention as anyone, but this article is a little misleading.

Many people are unaware that talc is so cancerous to the vagina as it is not as openly discussed in polite company. While this ad is it’s own propaganda to sell a laundry product, it is stating things some people might not be aware of. Before you condemn it, it should be praised at least for passing on the information so people can make more informed decisions.

I always ate this way and never had a weight issue. I use Snap green cleaning products because of my sensitivity to scents. You can see them at PaidToShopSmart.com but I’ve found I no longer have issues with cleaning and we are all FEELING better. WE control how we live, if we are aware we can improve our health.

Procter And Gamble Main Ingredient that Is In Embalming Fluid Is In The Living Consumers Bodies Nationwide…

Consumers have inhaled, ingested, and absorbed through the skin, formaldehyde, the main chemical ingredient in Embalming Fluid.

    http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/petition-by-choice-for-procter-gamble-to-take-the-co.html

Please click on the above link or copy and paste it in your browser and click enter to sign the Petition: By Choice For Procter & Gamble To Take The Contaminants Out Of Their Products.

A small amount of formaldehyde is added to preservatives, sanitisings, disinfectants and additives, which are mixed together to form a mixture, known as embalming fluid.

Although Formaldehyde is the main ingredient/contaminant in embalming fluid, it was not name an ingredient in consumers’ household products, personal care products and baby products, etc…

But, as of the middle part of 2011, formaldehyde has now been named a chemical that causes cancer, by the Federal Government. Currently, formaldehyde is not listed on most of the product labels.

When this mixture is injected into corpses (dead people) arterial, it stiffens and hardens the muscles and the skin, as well as, prevents the corpses from decomposition.
This formaldehyde mixture will change a sickles, very thin, sagging skin, even an open mouth, bruise body at the time of death, back to his or her original size and appearance, over a high, percentage of the time.

Unlike what it does to decease bodies, formaldehyde will damage the neurological connectors in living bodies.

Formaldehyde will irritate the human nose, human eyes, human throat and human lungs.

Household chemicals namely formaldehyde can cause humans to have the following health problems: Ear infections, depression, asthma, vomiting, laryngitis, mental confusion, skin reactions, joint pain, disorientation, sleep disturbances, headaches, fatigue, nausea, phlebitis, dizziness, panic attacks, cardiovascular problems, bed wetting and anxiety attacks.

Infants, toddlers, elderly, women who work in the home/stay at home moms and chronically ill people have even a higher death rate from cancer cause by formaldehyde and other chemicals and contaminants, than people working outside the home, because they spend more time in the home.

Many chemicals that are used in products have not been tested for negative side effects, and mostly, none of the chemicals have been tested in combination with other chemicals.

The FDA oversees personal care products and regulates them once they are on the market. There is no stamp of approval beforehand.

Labeling for Procter and Gamble products are done by Procter and Gamble/manufacturers. Do you think for a second, that they will list anything that they don’t have to, as well as, other companies, too?

Formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane are not only found in children and adults products, they are found in other products too.

Below are some of the products, which contain formaldehyde, 1,4-dioxane and other chemicals and contaminants.

Toothpaste/a small amount of toothpaste with formaldehyde in it and other chemicals can kill or harm a child, fluoride, shampoo, baby products, cosmetics, mouthwash, cleaning products, hair setting lotions, hairspray, pharmaceutical drugs, over the counter medications, perfumes, fingernail polish, fungicides use on fruit trees have cause babies to be born with very tiny eyes or no eyes, pesticides, air fresheners desensitize your nerves in your nose so you can’t smell, laundry spray starch, dry cleaning clothing, moth balls, floor polishes, antiperspirants, waxes, furniture polish, shaving cream, laundry detergents, tide is the main polluter, tide, tide free, ivory snow gentle, gain 2x ultra, cheer bright clean detergent, era 2x ultra, nail polish remover, insect repellent, hair styling gel and mousse, window cleaners, baby powder with talc, crest tartar control toothpaste, lysol disinfectant, clairol nice-n-easy hair color, head and shoulder shampoo, pantene shampoo, herbal essence shampoo, vo5 hair conditioner, ajax cleanser, Palmolive dish liquid, chlorine, bleach is linked to breast cancer and behavioral problems in our children and reproductive problems in men, wax paper, Tupperware/plastic has cause kidney and liver damage, coffee, money, permanent press clothing, carpet have caused kidney and liver damage, tobacco, dawn dishwashing detergent and easy off. Mobile home smell and New car smell…

Cancer is the number one cause of death for children of all ages. Cancer rates have almost double since the 60’s. The above products that are mix with chemicals and contaminants are killing us all.

Children as well as adults have been exposed to this chemical, formaldehyde, which causes cancer, and the above products, along with other dangerous chemicals and contaminants.

Household chemicals namely formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane and other chemicals and contaminants can cause consumers to have severe health problems.

Formaldehyde is linked to birth defects, psychological abnormalities, cancer and allergies.

Below are some of the diseases, which are related to formaldehyde the main ingredient in embalming fluid. Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, lupus, depression, hormonal problems, Parkinson’s disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, circulatory disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and arthritis.

Formaldehyde: This powerful embalming fluid ingredient is in Procter and Gamble products and it is a known carcinogen by the Federal Government. Formaldehyde causes cancer in consumers nationwide.

However, some chemicals that are known to be carcinogens, names are often disguised by using many innocuous names. To confuse the consumers even more some chemicals are listed under many different synonyms names. Furthermore, contaminants do not have to be listed on the product labels.

Procter and Gamble you know that harmful, unwanted, cancer is appearing in consumers and their children bodies from chemicals and contaminants, which are in your products. But, you along with other companies,’ don’t have an antidote for it. Cancer can be medically treated, but it can’t be reversed.
Once cancer appears in your body, and goes into remission, there is always a chance that it will come back.

Stop purchasing Procter and Gamble, as well as, other company’s everyday use of some of their baby products, household cleaning products, household cooking products, plastic containers products and cosmetics products, until proven changes are made.

Procter and gamble and other companies, you must make your products formaldehyde free, 1,4-dioxane free, and all other dangerous hazard toxic chemicals and contaminants free, free, free….

i use ‘Oatly’, to replace milk: its a milk substitute made from organic oats, and tastes at least as good as soya milk(which i’ve drunk for the last 20 years). as detergent in the washing machine, for clothes, i use Ecover washing-up liquid: just a teaspoonful. it’s far less abrasive than washing machine detergent powders, and woollen things come out as soft as cashmere. i don’t use makeup, but am still trying to find a sourace of soft soap instead of shampoo. it’s good to get used to a little dirt round the house: nothing squalid, but just the natural deposits living leaves behind. we’re not squeaky clean organisms, and it isn’t healthy to try to be so. the recent use of antiseptic wipes everywhere is a very bad idea, on the whole.

This is such a deceptive article. It is pushing the sale of a product, probably a very nice product I’m sure, by using scare tactics. The first clue is the use of the term “giant corporations” as if they are out to get us!
Cancer rates are NOT sky rocketing. The are more cases reported because we live longer and don’t die from other causes. Detection methods are better. We are more cancer aware and we talk about it more than a generation or two ago would. It used to be that cancer was not discussed, it was something to be embarrassed about. Now we talk very freely about it and sadly some use it as a badge of honor and a fund raising, profit making tool.
I am not saying we should abuse our bodies and our environment and our planet BUT we have to use common sense about the way we live.

Agreed, this is a scare ’em up. If they started by telling us that they had a better product that did not contain common carcinogens, even in very small quantities, and THEN invited us to click on a link to a description of what was in other products, their points might be acceptable. As it is, they try to scare the unwary and then offer a costly solution. We all are living longer because we have access to products that are largely safe and available at prices that people can afford. Take great care when you knock those benefits. Most readers are simply likely to lose trust and live in fear when they read this stuff, while not being able to afford anything that improves their life. That is a not a good place for them to be; on average, they are likely to live a long time doing what they are already doing – that is a clear, well verified statistic.

      • 131. smartklean  |  December 23, 2013 at 8:33 pm

        Dear Neil,

We do not intend to scare our readers. It’s simply raising awareness to topics that are causing suffering to people and our environment. And it’s incredibly easy to find healthier alternatives for all these products with a simple search on Google. The article is based on the truth of popular products the masses find safe and acceptable for their homes. It is up to the reader to do their own research and find products that are safe and affordable for their household. On this same blog, one can find DIY (do it yourself) cleaning recipes to make at home with simple natural ingredients such as vinegar, baking soda, lemon, corn starch, essential oils, etc. One simply has to LOOK. There are thousands upon thousands of other blogs that list the same information for cleaning products, personal hygiene products, and safer food products. If one loses trust and lives in fear, that is because they decided to stay in that state of mind and chooses to continue making brands, government, institutions, manufacturers, etc. responsible for their own health. The message: you are responsible for your own health.

Alpenrose milk in Portland, OR is not treated with rBGH either.
For laundry, if I need extra cleaning power, I add baking soda and salt. The salt scours out the smells of towels or sweat on undershirts. I use hot water for the towels. I haven’t put salt in perm. press, etc. just the towels. I am for sure gong to check my labels!

Consumers need to know that there are companies that care as much about people as profits and are committed to making 100% toxin free products that are safe for our families and our environment.

While it is pretty scary what is in some of our foods, cosmetics, skincare and cleaning products there are some awesome alternatives out there. For those interested and concerned about what is in their cosmetic and skincare products you might want to check out http://www.arbonne.ca Arbonne carries botanically based skincare, cosmetic and wellness products. The products don’t contain any animal products or by-products, no formaldehyde-donating preservatives as well as not petroleum based ingredients. Check it out or ask me for more information on any of the products and where they can be purchased. It is a great alternative to what’s out there!

Perhaps a great alternative, but you’ll have to remortgage your house in order to use them consistently. I make all my own cosmetics… it takes up a couple hours a week but overall I’ve saved a ton of money and I feel good about the things I put on my skin.

I also wanted to suggest Biokleen products. I use that product a lot myself. I use their laundry detergent and a bottle is 128 loads if HE. I think I might have gotten more out of it than that. It only requires a tablespoon per load. I think it works great.

I’m currently trying out their dish soap, they say can also be used as a hand soap and dog wash! It’s detergent is made from grapefruit (same as the laundry soap). I also use it to wash my fruits and vegetables.

I use Method brand for most of my cleaning products around the house now. Much better for us and the environment compared to other cleaners, they smell great, they aren’t that expensive, and they’re available at places like Target!

They also make things like hand soap, dish soap, a something similar to a swiffer. You can google to find their website. Just try “Method Cleaner” or something similar.

I will agree that making your own products is still best, no packaging to toss out/recycle and harmless ingredients. But the average person probably won’t want to take the time or effort.

Been sick for 12 years dealing with fragrance. Fragrance can have hundreds of untested chemicals. It is not the products I use, it is the products others are using now that cause so much suffering.

Ralph Nader is the Westboro Baptist Church of crisis-mongering. I plan to continue eating hot dogs; the number you’d have to consume to do serious damage to yourself is extensive. Note that one of the labels lists “DDT,” which is strange since it’s been banned for years because of Rachel Carson’s shrill and alarmist “Silent Spring,” the result of which has been the death of millions from malaria because we can’t kill the anopheles mosquito. It might surprise you to know that many of the ingredients in perfectly healthy foods (oranges, apples, soybeans, etc.) if tested individually, will prove to be carcinogenic or otherwise dangerous to your health. When you read an article like this, do you ever ask yourself why you don’t see people dropping like flies?
I eat one or two bowls of ice cream a week (to use just one example) and pour half and half on my cereal. My HDL and LDL cholesterol levels are actually better now than they were ten years ago (I’m 68). I also walk a lot and eat very little beef by taste not because of some half-truths about possible carcinogens.
I’ve taken a broad battery of allergy tests and almost all my allergies are environmental, not due to foods or chemicals, some of which were included in the tests.
One of the wiser verses in the Bible asks, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” In fact, worry can shorten your life, so calm down and stop tilting at windmills.

One drop of water will not break a rock, either, but many over time will.
If you research cholesterol (i suggest http://www.mercola.com), you will find that ice cream and half & half do not necessarily raise bad cholesterol levels.
And, what makes you think you live in an environmentally clean environment.
God also tells us that our bodies are His temple. Shouldn’t we do everything we can to take good care of it?? Taking care of something valuable does not mean we worry about it.

The simple fact that you have environmental allergies proves you are not as healthy as you think you are. If your body wasn’t already burdened with toxins you could handle the environment. We did evolve with the environment you know? Why all of a sudden would human kind be allergic to it? Think about it?

I have boycotted P&G for over 25 years and continue to do so. FYI, they also promote Folgers coffee, IAMS and Eukanuba pet foods. Stay away from anything that puts money in their pockets.

The answer to Cancer has been know for many years. The key is prevention however, if you have just been diagnosed or have had cancer for some time, you must start eating your apricot seeds, enzymes and more immediately. In any stage, a person should literally become a ‘born again’ eater. when the cancer is in end stages a few apricot seeds can only slow the cancer down and not fully rejuvinate person’s organs and circulatorysystem.

Not true at all. The people who voted for Bush are responsible for electing him. And those who sat around and said/did nothing while he was in office are just as guilty at ruining the country. The Nader “argument” is ridiculous. The number of votes accounted for by all of the other parties – and we should be more than a two party system wouldn’t have propelled Gore into office. The popular vote is not what wins elections.

Hah! The FDA IS the problem, I’ve started calling them the Federal Death Administration. There is a petition going for our reps. to push for labeling of GMO’s on foods. (genetically modified organisims) I passed it on, forgot the site, try googeling ‘millions against monsanto’.
28 yrs. ago the EPA studied fat in people all across the country: 100% had 4 industrial solvents and 1 dioxide, 90% also had 9 other chemicals, 3 of those were dioxins and 1 furan, 83% also had an accumulation of PCB’s. Again, that was 28 yrs. ago. They concluded we were ingesting these through our soil and water.
So when I read about autisim skyrocketing and how many physical problems these little kids have besides, it sounds to me like they’ve been poisoned from the womb. This article and these web sites just confirms it. We’ve been too smart for our own good. We’ve created all these products to the detriment and even to the death of ourselves.

The problem is many people think “out of sight out of mind”, down the drain it goes…therefore it must be gone! Maybe if we didn’t have such great sewage and garbage disposal systems the world would be a cleaner place. If people’s only choice is to dispose of waste in their own backyards, how would things be different today? People would buy less junk, toxic cleaners, etc.

Seriously? You ingest hot dogs and milk. While your skin is supposed to be a barrier in many instances, it is also incredibly absorbant…gosh, gum tissue is like a sponge. Thus, hair color, toothpaste, shampoos/conditioners, and hair color chemicals are sucked in…same goes for the meds you put on your animals. And as for inhaled…when you sprinkle Ajax, the particles are inhaled. When you spray Lysol…do you hold your nose?

      • 176. Cosmic Cowgirl  |  May 10, 2011 at 8:22 pm

Try this experiment. Weigh yourself before taking a bath/shower. Towel dry and weigh yourself after. My guess is that you have gained about a pound. Yes, the skin does have keratin which acts as barrier, but not a complete barrier. So – what exactly has been absorbed by your skin, other than the water? Chemicals.

      • 177. Ramona  |  May 12, 2011 at 5:03 am

Dr. Staninger, renown toxicologist, adamantly explains that Anything you put on your skin is absorbed within 20 seconds…
Therefore, everything we come into skin contact with, has the potential of toxifying our system.
Also, our lungs have the largest surface area of any other organ, even more than skin. Breathing household chemicals and pumping our gas are by far the greatest risks to our health.
Here’s to the art of selective breathing!

    • 178. Theresa  |  April 25, 2011 at 11:18 pm

Amounts don’t matter to me. I just want to know what’s in them so I can avoid them if I choose. And some of these substances are toxic even in small amounts. Some people don’t even read the labels. I saw someone cleaning silver with their bare hands with silver cleaner that contains a carcinogen. This is listed on the label in very small print. This product should not even be out there. Someone else sprays tons of Lysol spray in his bedroom, thinking that it’s healthy. These products really are unnecessary.

Hi Clayvessel, it’s hard to even begin explaining this. It’s sad that most people are unaware that U.S chemical laws so outdated (they have not been reviewed in about 40 years) and corrupt that the only rule that seems to apply here is that basically anything goes in personal care products. The Cancer Prevention Coalition (CPC) ran lab tests and gained access to the ingredient information of these products.

Depending on what you use Ajax for, whether it’s dishwasher detergent or floor cleaner, we suggest you research homemade green cleaner recipes online. If you use it to clean your floor, you should always remember that homemade floor cleaner recipes will not apply to each and every surface! There’s an abundance of websites that teach you how to make your own cleaners and disinfectants. These alternatives are significantly cheaper and harmless to your health and the environment if used properly.

Whole Foods has plenty of REAL NATURAL products without ANY chemicals.
In Canada there is a company in Toronto since….1963 manufacturing chemical free laundry and dishwashing liquids(NOT “detergents”) .
A good supermarket should have non-chemical stuff.
But watch for the abuse of name “Green” and “Natural”.
ALWAYS check ingredients. If they sound too chemical, then NO.
And you can always get them on amazon.com
